Our Origin — The Story Behind Midas Touch Insoles
Our concept started from a grad-school project in 2023 that was centered around the
alarmingly high rate of lower extremity injuries occurring in women's soccer. With an
understanding that many of the cleats worn by female soccer players were designed with
the anatomy and biomechanics of men in mind, we designed a women's-specific cleat that
emphasized the importance of long-term health for women playing on the collegiate level.
With that required constant insight and consideration of women playing high-level soccer
and a priority to design a durable insole solely based on the foot morphology of women.
After years of prototyping, field testing, surveys, and conversations with women in soccer,
we've effectively addressed the discomfort, pain, and lack of durability in insoles expressed
by athletes playing in today's cleats. Over time we've developed an insole that has not only
gained the approval of women playing at the highest level, but encouragement to provide a
product that addresses a genuine need on all levels in a sport that continues to grow.
Our Mission
Through every moment our sole priority is making sure you are — Protected with every step.
The Problem We Set Out to Solve
- Alarmingly high rate of lower extremity injuries in women's soccer
- Soccer cleats designed for male anatomy and biomechanics leaving female athletes underserved

Centering the Female Athlete
At the core of everything Midas Touch Insoles does is a single, unwavering commitment —
the female athlete comes first. For too long, the sport of soccer has seen its female
players compete in equipment that was never truly designed for them. Cleats built on
male lasts, insoles engineered for male biomechanics, and footwear that overlooks the
distinct anatomical needs of the female foot have left women in soccer underserved,
uncomfortable, and at greater risk of injury.
Midas Touch Insoles was founded to change that. We believe that centering the female
athlete means more than simply scaling down a product designed for men — it means
starting from scratch with the female foot in mind. It means accounting for the higher
arches, narrower heels, lower instep, and unique pressure loading patterns that define
female foot morphology. It means listening to the voices of women in soccer — from
collegiate athletes training three to four times a week to professional players competing
on the world stage — and building a product that responds directly to what they have
told us they need.
The female athlete deserves footwear that prioritizes her health, her comfort, and her
performance without compromise. She deserves an insole that lasts through a full season,
that supports her through every lateral takeoff, every propulsion, every heel strike,
and every moment of acceleration on the field. She deserves a product that was made
with her body in mind from the very first prototype — not as an afterthought.
Why Centering the Female Athlete Matters in Soccer
- Female soccer athletes experience lower extremity injuries at alarmingly high rates — in part due to equipment not designed for female biomechanics
- Female foot morphology differs significantly from male foot morphology in arch height, heel width, instep profile, and pressure loading patterns
- Women's soccer continues to grow globally at the collegiate and professional level — and the demand for women-specific performance footwear is growing with it
- Centering the female athlete means designing products that address her specific anatomical, biomechanical, and performance needs from the ground up
- Female athletes deserve the same level of product investment, research, and innovation that has long been directed toward male athletes in soccer
- Prioritizing the health and comfort of the female athlete is not just a brand value — it is a necessity for the long-term wellbeing of women in the sport
- Midas Touch Insoles stands as a commitment that the female athlete will no longer be an afterthought in soccer footwear design
The Female Athlete at Every Level
- Youth female soccer athletes developing their game and protecting their long-term foot health
- Women's college soccer athletes competing through grueling three to four month regular seasons
- NCAA tournament competitors playing 90 to 120 minutes with minimal rest between games
- Professional women's soccer athletes in the United States and internationally in leagues such as Serie A Femminile in Italy
- Female futbol athletes across Europe, Latin America, and beyond who deserve performance insoles built for their bodies
- Every female athlete who has ever played through pain because the equipment available was not designed with her in mind
"Through every moment our sole priority is making sure you are — Protected with every step."
Midas Touch Insoles Brand Mission
Origin Story — Midas Touch Insoles
The Problem: Lower Extremity Injuries in Women's Soccer
In a world where lower extremity injuries account for 18% of injuries in women's soccer,
the discomfort expressed with current insoles in women's soccer cleats has been made loud
and clear. Designed with the health and comfort of the female athlete in mind, Midas Touch
Insoles aims to provide improved support and durability to boost comfort, confidence, and
precision with every step.
Women's Soccer Lower Extremity Injury Data
- Lower extremity injuries account for 18% of all injuries in women's soccer
- Plantar fasciitis is a common overuse injury in female soccer athletes resulting from inadequate insole cushioning and arch support
- Achilles tendinitis affects female soccer athletes subjected to repetitive heel striking and propulsion without adequate heel support
- Overuse injuries result from increased physical demands on female athletes without adequate insole support and durability
- Current insoles in women's soccer cleats lack the needed cushioning and durability to support the increased physical demands of the female athlete
Our Origins — Addressing the Neglect of Women's Footwear in Soccer
Our origins are rooted in addressing the neglect of women's footwear needs in soccer.
We have only recently seen a shift in cleats being designed with the anatomy and movements
of female athletes in mind and consideration. However, what still remains are insoles that
lack the needed cushioning and durability to support the increased physical demands of the
athlete to prevent conditions like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, and other overuse
injuries. With the women's game continuing to grow and expectations rising with it, our
mission is rooted in valuing both the health and comfort of the athlete to put them in the
best position to excel on the field.
Conditions Midas Touch Insoles Helps Prevent
-
Plantar fasciitis — caused by repetitive stress and inadequate arch support
and cushioning in women's soccer cleats; addressed through the Dura-Step Plush Arch Zone
and durable Dura-Step compression technology
-
Achilles tendinitis — caused by repetitive heel striking and propulsion
without adequate heel support; addressed through the Strike Ladle supportive heel cup
-
Lower extremity overuse injuries — resulting from the high physical demands
of women's soccer including running, cutting, lateral takeoff, propulsion, and heel strike
without sufficient insole durability and cushioning across a full season
The Midas Touch Brand Logo — Cardinal Directions, The Star, and Streak of Motion
The Midas Touch Insoles brand logo is not merely a visual mark — it is a statement of
purpose. Each element of the logo reflects the brand's morals, priorities, and mission
as an insole brand dedicated to addressing the lack of consideration for the female
athlete within soccer.
Cardinal Directions
North, South, East, West. The Cardinal Directions element of the Midas Touch logo
represents the insole's ability to provide comfort and support to enable seamless cuts
in every direction. In soccer, directional change is constant — lateral takeoffs, medial
takeoffs, propulsion, cutting, and pivoting all demand an insole that can support the
female athlete no matter which direction the game takes her. The Cardinal Directions
symbolize the 360-degree commitment of Midas Touch Insoles to the female athlete's
comfort and performance on the field.
The Star / Midas Touch
At the core of this movement is the athlete. Bold, rapid, expressive, and brimming with
potential — every step they take is perfect. The Star at the center of the Midas Touch
logo represents the female soccer athlete herself — the reason the brand exists and the
center of every design decision, every research initiative, and every comfort innovation
Midas Touch Insoles brings to the field. The star is not decoration — it is a declaration
that the female athlete is the core of this movement and that her potential is limitless
when she is properly supported.
Streak of Motion
In a game that demands quick thinking and reactions, constant movement is imperative.
The Streak of Motion element of the Midas Touch logo represents the dynamic, explosive,
and continuous movement that defines women's soccer at every level. It reflects the brand's
understanding that the female athlete is always in motion — and that every insole must be
engineered to keep up with her, supporting her through every sprint, cut, heel strike,
and moment of acceleration without losing cushioning, support, or structural integrity.
